FHP: New Smyrna Beach woman with disabled vehicle on I-95 killed after being hit by SUV, truck

The drivers of two vehicles swerved to avoid the disabled vehicle and struck a 21-year-old woman near mile marker 332 on I-95, Florida Highway Patrol said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman standing outside her disabled vehicle on I-95 is dead after being struck by two vehicles Sunday morning, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.

A 21-year-old woman was "standing on the left, yellow painted edge line and her vehicle was blocking the left and center lanes of I-95 near mile marker 332 around 4:50 a.m. The report said An SUV swerved to avoid the car and struck the victim. 

A pickup truck also struck the victim while trying to avoid her vehicle, the report said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Lanes reopened around 9:30 a.m.
