JFRD: Brush fire reported on Jacksonville's Eastside

The fire is now out, as the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department says no one was injured and no properties were damaged.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A brush fire near a neighborhood on Jacksonville's Eastside Friday morning awoke neighbors and was visible for miles, as the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department tells First Coast News the fire has been put out.

No one was injured and no properties were damaged, according to JFRD. Firefighters used a bulldozer to create a containment line for the fire.

The fire happened around 2 a.m. close to 'The Arc Jacksonville Village' neighborhood, located at 3675 Kirbo Rd.; the cause of it is not yet known.
