The Arbery family was joined by the community and close friends.

Dunson is family friends with the Arberys and organized this year’s celebration for Ahmaud, centered around music.

“Music not only does the healing when it comes to the neighborhood when we had tragedies,” Dunson said.

A tragedy that happened four years ago, Marcus Arbery said the event helps keeps his son’s name alive.

As the family still waits for a trial date for former district attorney, Jackie Johnson, who plead not guilty to interfering with the investigation into Arbery’s death.

“We don't need no people in our justice system that don't treat all people equal," Arbery said.
