Jax man receives mandatory life in prison for 2nd degree murder

A 38-year-old man was sentenced to mandatory life in prison after being convicted of second degree murder.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 38-year-old man was sentenced to mandatory life in prison after being convicted of second degree murder.

Anthony Mincey, 38, also received 15 concurrent years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Mincey was found guilty of shooting 21-year-old Devaughn Durham in the leg in 2009. Durham was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries.

Part of the shooting was captured on surveillance cameras and an investigation revealed that Mincey shot at Durham was across the street at the intersection of Whitner and McConihe Streets in Jacksonville.
