The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the woman was in her 30s and there were multiple witnesses at the scene at 4000 Roosevelt Blvd.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update: The woman who was shot and killed on Saturday at the Shell gas station/Daily's convenience store at 4225 Roosevelt Blvd., has been identified as Demeshia Gainer, 32, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office told First Coast News on Monday.

Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed Saturday morning in Lakeshore.

The victim was described as a Black woman in her 30s, according to police, shot in the parking lot of a gas station at 4000 Roosevelt Blvd. There were multiple witnesses at the scene and the shooting occurred around 5:25 a.m.

JSO is looking for a person of interest, described as a Black male wearing all black clothing who ran south on Roosevelt Boulevard. Police believe the victim and the person of interest traveled to the location in the black sedan.

Investigators say the victim was shot while she was outside the sedan, then the person of interest got out of the sedan and ran from scene.

At the time of the incident, a train was going by but it was making a lot of noise so police are trying to piece together evidence.
