Woman charged with DUI manslaughter after deadly crash on US-1 in St. Johns County

A woman is facing multiple charges, including DUI manslaughter, after she reportedly struck and killed another driver on U.S. 1 and Stokes Landing in St. Johns County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said Grace Ann King was driving a 2018 Lincoln MKX northbound on U.S. 1 at 89 mph in a 60 mph zone with no headlights on. 

At the same time, Desmond Dominion Oesterreicher Jr. was a driving a 1998 Ford Ranger southbound on U.S. 1, according to FHP.

FHP said Oesterreicher Jr. died after he was struck by King's vehicle upon turning left onto Stokes Landing.

Toxicology results showed King was under the influence of alcohol and controlled substances at the time of the deadly crash.

Two other vehicles were also damaged in the incident.

In addition to DIU manslaughter, King has been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI property damage and driving without headlights, according to FHP.
