ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office says it has launched an investigation after a citizen found "skeletal human remains" on private property Thursday, according to its Facebook post.
The remains were found in the Flagler Estates subdivision on Cedar Ford Boulevard in southern St. Johns County, the post states.
SJSO Major Crimes Unit detectives and crime scene technicians are processing the scene, the post states, as the active investigation will determine the circumstances around the incident.
The sheriff's office says to expect police presence in the area.
