Police investigate deadly shooting on Jacksonville's Westside

Police say one man was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. There are no suspects at this time.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man found lying in the street after reports of a shooting, has died on Jacksonville's Westside. 

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says shots were reported shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 5900 block of Wilmar Road. 

Upon arrival, a 37-year-old man was located suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses described two unknown suspects, dressed in black, running up and shooting the victim and fleeing in a burnt orange or red small SUV with dark tinted windows and silver rims.

Detectives are currently speaking with witnesses and looking for video surveillance.
