Man arrested in St. Johns County in connection to killing of two Palm Bay teens on Christmas last year

Police: Jamarcus Simpson is accused of killing a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A Palm Bay man accused of killing a 14 year old and 16 year old in a remote part of Palm Bay on Christmas Day last year has been arrested in St. Johns County, according to police.

Jamarcus Simpson, 18, was booked in St. Johns County on unrelated charges at 9:40 a.m. Friday.

Palm Bay Police Chief Mario Augello called the killings "brutal" in a social media post. He said motives are continuing to be investigated.

The teens, Jeremiah Brown and Travon Anthony, were found in a 3,000-acre area in Southwest Palm Bay called "The Compound." Officers found two victim's who died from apparent gunshots wounds at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 25 last year.

"What's clear is that our teenage victims were brutally executed and left in an open field on Christmas night, which also happened to be Travon's 16th birthday," Augello said.

Augello hinted there were others involved in the murders. 

"We know there are people in the community who have information about this case and encourage their cooperation to bring closure to our victims' families," Augello said.
