The owner of a Jacksonville Beach business pleaded guilty to his involvement in a $57 million money laundering scheme.

The owner and CEO of a Jacksonville Beach substance abuse treatment center pleaded guilty to his involvement in a $57 million money laundering scheme.

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Tuesday that the CEO of Beaches Recovery Services, 36-year-old Kyle Marcotte, pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to commit money laundering.

According to the DOJ, Marcotte made an agreement with laboratory owners and hospitals to send urine samples to specific labs for drug testing in exchange for insurance reimbursements.

The total amount of money that was part of the laundering scheme was $57.3 million, according to Marcotte's admission. As part of his guilty plea, Marcotte reportedly agreed to forfeit more than 10 million dollars.
