Jaguars receiver Zay Jones appears in Duval court following domestic battery arrest

A Jacksonville officer said he observed scratches on a woman's neck who was in a dispute with Jaguars receiver Zay Jones on Monday. Jones appeared in court Tuesday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A day after being accused of domestic battery in Jacksonville, Jaguars' wide receiver Zay Jones appeared in a Duval County court Tuesday. Jacksonville police were called to a home Monday in the 4800 block of San Pablo Road in reference to a domestic battery that occurred in the 14400 block of Marina San Pablo Place, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office incident report.

When officers arrived, the victim said she was visiting her child's father and family when she got into an argument with Jones, 28, the report states. She told police that Jones was upset because she was taking their child to Orlando, where she lives.

"I observed several small scratches on the victim's neck, consistent with marks from a fingernail," an officer stated in the report. Jones was arrested without incident, the report states.

On Tuesday, the Judge set Jones' bond at $2,503. He's scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 6.
