A body was found in the trunk of a car near an elementary school and church in North Jacksonville Sunday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
At 1:45 p.m. a patrol officer noticed an abandoned 2011 Nissan Altima on the side of the road in the 12500 block of Biscayne Boulevard near Biscayne Elementary School.
After inspecting the car, the officer found a body inside the vehicle's trunk. It is believed the body and the vehicle may have been there since Saturday night.
The victim has not been identified and the cause of death remains unknown. JSO is treating the case as a suspicious death.
