Eastbound outside lane of Mathews Bridge reopens after crash

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the lane is expected to be closed for 30 minutes.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Traffic is moving smoothly on the Mathews Bridge again Wednesday evening after reaching a standstill earlier due to a crash.

The crash caused the outside eastbound lane of the bridge to close for about an hour, but it has since reopened.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office initially said the lane was expected to be closed for approximately 30 minutes, advising drivers to avoid the area or seek an alternate route.
