Two adults, toddler in critical condition following multi-vehicle crash in Arlington area

JSO says 2 vehicles were traveling northbound on Cesery Boulevard when a minivan traveling southbound went into the northbound lanes and caused a head-on collision.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department says two adults including a pediatric and one child was taken to a Jacksonville hospital following a crash that occurred in the Arlington area of Jacksonville Wednesday morning.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office's Sergeant Hungerford says at 8:05 a.m., two vehicles were driving northbound in the 2600 block of Cesery Boulevard while a minivan was traveling southbound on the road. He says the minivan went into the northbound lanes, resulting in a head-on collision with the front vehicle that was traveling north.

As a result of the crash, Hungerford says the vehicles "spun in circles, opposing directions" and the first vehicle traveling northbound, hit the second vehicle traveling behind it.

JFRD says the three people are in critical condition as Hungerford adds that the two drivers involved in the head-on collision are stable. He says the child, a toddler believed to be "less than 5-years-old," and who was in one of the vehicles traveling northbound on the road, is in life-threatening condition.

JSO says they will not be releasing the child's specific age or gender "at this time."

The crash is under an ongoing investigation.
