Man bitten by shark in Jacksonville Beach identified

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A man was bitten by a shark in the 1100 block of 1st Street South, according to Tom Francis with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

3rd grade FCAT scores reflect expected drop

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- FCAT scores for third grade reading and math were released by the Florida Department of Education on Thursday, and the scores show the state's third graders to be "on target" in light of creating higher standards from 2011 to 2012, the Department said in a release.

Unidentified man found guilty of identity theft and fraud involving Mayport Naval Station and JAXPORT

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An individual who can only be identified as John Doe has been found guilty of seven counts of aggravated identity theft, six counts of falsely representing a social security number, and one count of passport fraud according to U.S. Attorney Robert E. O'Neill.
