Elderly Driver Crashes Into DMV While Trying to Renew License

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL -- An elderly woman in Florida turned a trip to the department of motor vehicles into a trip "inside" the D.M.V. It happened in Deerfield Beach near Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday.

Police say 80-year-old Therese Smith came to the D.M.V to re-take a driver's test. As she was leaving, smith hit the gas and plowed through the glass window into the office.

Fortunately the driver wasn't hurt but seven people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. All of them have been treated and released.

There's no word on how Smith did on her driving test.
