Man Arrested for Murder in Glynn County, Georgia

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. -- Officials in Glynn County, Georgia say they have arrested a suspect in a shooting death.

Officers responded to a shooting in the area of Seventh St. at Ogg Ave.

When officers arrived, they found 21-year-old Christopher Kimp in the front drivers seat of his 2007 white Dodge Magnum. Kimp had a single gunshot wound to the head.

Kimp, was pronounced dead at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center.

There were two other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the shooting that were not injured. The other occupants were an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male.

Witnesses identified the suspect as 21-year-old Marquel Parker of Brunswick.

Officials say Parker fled the scene on foot after the shooting.

Parker was arrested without incident approximately 40 minutes after the shooting was reported, at a traffic stop.

Parker has been charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
