JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Kids can sometimes get into accidents. One little girl in an Argyle neighborhood ran into a woman walking along the street. Now the girl's mom says that woman may sue her for her injuries.

Karen Jordan says when the chain fell off, her 10-year-old daughter's bike went out of control. The bike hit a neighbor walking by and knocked the woman down.

Jordan says she agreed to help pay for the neighbor's medical bills for a fractured arm. But that was not the end of it.

"Yesterday I got a letter asking for my homeowners insurance information, they wanted to make a claim against that," says Jordan.

Now Jordan says she fears a civil lawsuit after she received a letter from an attorney's office.

"If her injuries are done then she should accept the $145 and be done with it. I'm worried about my finances."

She says she can't believe or understand why her neighbor who is a teacher would go this far after a child's bike accident.

First Coast News called the teacher who may sue Jordan in this case. Our calls were not returned.
