PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- A high-speed chase across two counties landed two people in jail.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, the chase started in Flagler County when a car driven by Kevin Leon Crews didn't stop for a deputy.
The car sped into Putnam County, where deputies were finally able to stop it by using stop sticks near the intersection of State Road 100 and U.S. 17 in San Mateo Monday night.
Once deputies got the car stopped, they took a look inside.
Sheriff's deputies say the car contained a "large amount" of stolen property such as purses, computers and musical equipment.
The detective assigned to the case has determined the items were stolen from cars and college campuses across the state.
Additionally, deputies say the car Crews was driving was also stolen.
Crews faces charges of grand theft, fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers, driving with a suspended or revoked license and a warrant from another county.
Crews had a passenger, Daina Marie Bailey, who was also arrested and charged with grand theft and a warrant from another county.
Bailey is being held without bond; Crews is being held on a bond of more than $67,000.
Both Crews and Bailey are from Jacksonville.
The investigation is underway to identify the owners of the stolen property.
