ST. GEORGE, GA -- It may seem like a strange spot to set a world record, but deep in the woods, along the St. Marys River, that's what about 20 people were trying to do. And even though it was raining, no one needed a jacket, or a shirt, or pants. "It's a nice feeling, nude recreation is a freedom, it's a way of life," says Barbara Hatten. More than come as you are, here it was come how you were born into the world. Hatten who operates the Hidden River resort in St. George, Georgia wanted to join in on a nationwide attempt at the skinny dipping record. "Anyone who's skinny dipped as a kid knows how wonderful it was, now that we're 20, 30, 40 years older it's still wonderful," says Hatten. "I think it's awesome, even in the rain here we are. This may not be perfect beach weather in your clothes, but for this record, yes, we're all here for that," says participant Susan Kragh. Across North America at exactly the same time people wearing just a smile were jumping into lakes and pools to set the simultaneous skinny dipping record. But at Hidden River no one really needs a special occasion to bare it all. "I've been doing it 40 years, anytime there was a pool around with nobody looking it was out of the clothes and in the pool," says Hatten.
