JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Outside the men's locker room at UNF, a handful of eager fans awaited Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe's exit from a press conference.
"I just want a picture and an autograph," Vanessa Rodriguez told First Coast News.
The Australian actor stopped by the university to prepare for a January game for the rugby team he owns.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs will take on the English Super League Club the Leeds Rhinos on January 26, 2008 at Hodges Stadium.
Crowe told a room of reporters that the sports facilities at UNF are perfect for the rugby game.
"This is the first time a first rate professional rugby league team will actually play a first rate English rugby league team on American soil," Crowe said.
Both teams will train in Jacksonville Jan. 16 to 28.
Tickets for the upcoming match will be available on the Jacksonville Axeman rugby team's web site.
