Roger joined First Coast News in 1985. He came to Jacksonville after three years of television reporting in Lafayette, Louisiana. While in Louisiana, he completed his Master's degree in Communications from the University of Southwestern Louisiana
Home for Roger is the Midwest and the small town of Osmond, Nebraska. His family is still involved in farming. He enjoys sharing with people experiences of growing up in a rural community, where you could look miles in every direction and see nothing but farmland.
At First Coast News, Roger primarily covers education-related stories. He enjoys seeing firsthand what is happening in classrooms. His assignments have taken him into many schools across the First Coast.
Roger is married and has two lovely daughters, Devi and Daya, who keep him very busy. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out at the beach with his girls. Other fun activities include bike-riding, reading and doing yard work.
