Tracking The Tropics: Low risk of tropical development north of the Bahamas

Tropical updates from the NHC are being issued as of May 15th

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — TROPICS: The National Hurricane Center began its regular tropical outlooks on Monday, May 15 at 8:00 a.m. New this season, the organization will now issue 7-day outlooks versus 5-day outlooks on top of their 48-hour forecasts. The official start of the Atlantic hurricane season is June 1 and it runs through November 30.

There is an area north of the Bahamas associated with a surface trough that is bringing disturbed weather to the region. This has a low risk of development.
