HILLIARD, Florida — The video with this story is our weather update from 2 p.m. on Thursday. The gallery below shows storm damage photos from early Thursday morning.

A Nassau County family took severe damage to their home during a storm early Thursday morning.

Photos show a house on Murrhee Road in Hilliard with the pieces of the porch in the yard and the roof caving it.

Around 2:30 a.m., the homeowner (who does not wish to be named), said she heard what she thought was hail. As it got closer, it began to sound "like a freight train." She gathered her husband and kids, taking shelter in the bathroom.

Everyone is okay and unharmed, but the damage to the home was severe. Check out the gallery below, and remember to stay safe during severe weather.
