Woman killed in fatal hit-and-run crash in Clay County identified

FHP says the semi-truck driver continued driving on US 17 after the crash, but was later found and arrested for not stopping.

UPDATE 11:50 a.m.: All lanes of US-17 are back open, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

A woman died after a reported hit-and-run crash in Clay County Friday morning. 

Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened on US-17 near Westover Road. Troopers say a 68-year-old semi-truck driver hit the rear of 50-year-old Maria Ocasio's Toyota Avalon, causing her to crash into a support pole. 

Ocasio did not survive the crash. Investigators say she was wearing her seatbelt.
