St. Augustine man killed in Sunday night crash involving semi-truck on I-95

The Florida Highway Patrol said the semi-truck hit the victim's SUV, causing it to overturn several times.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A 54-year-old St. Augustine man is dead after a crash with a semi-truck Sunday night on I-95 in St. Johns County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi-truck, driven by a 59-year-old man from Quebec, Canada, was driving south on I-95 in the right lane. 

At about 10:20 p.m., the truck hit the back of an SUV, causing it to leave the right side of the road and overturn several times before coming to a rest in the wood line, FHP reported.

The driver of the SUV, identified as a 54-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the crash.
