About 40 students are safe after a school bus was involved in a traffic crash in the Oakleaf area Wednesday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said.

The crash was reported near Silver Bluff Boulevard and Oakleaf Village Parkway around 7 a.m.

FHP says that this was a two-vehicle accident involving the school bus and a Chevy Cruze driven by 20-year-old Anaya Copeland.

Copeland was traveling eastbound on Silver Bluff Boulevard and attempted to make a left turn onto Plantation Oaks Boulevard but failed to observe the bus.

FHP charged her with failure to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic.

Troopers say no students were injured.
