Lanes reopened after eight accidents on 95 block lanes in St. Johns and Duval

Multiple accidents along I-95 in Duval and St. Johns Counties is bringing traffic to a standstill.

UPDATE: Lanes on I-95 have reopened as of 4:30 p.m., according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office. Deputies say it will take time for roads to clear.

Multiple accidents along I-95 in Duval and St. Johns Counties is bringing traffic to a standstill.

There are eight crashes on I-95 near the northern border of St. Johns County as of 3:45 p.m., according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office. Five are in one direction and three are in another.

Passing lanes are opened but SJCSO says it will be some time before everything is cleared. Drivers are urged to avoid the northwest portion of I-95.

An accident near the St. Johns and Duval County line involves a dozen vehicles, but according to the Florida Highway Patrol, none of the injuries are life-threatening. I-95 south began flowing freely around 3 p.m.
