Semi-truck gets stuck on guardrail, leaks fuel in downtown area

Take N. Main St instead into downtown to save yourself some time.

Hazmat crews worked diligently to clean up a diesel fuel spill after a semi-truck crash in the Downtown area Friday morning.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department tweeted that the crash happened at the Myrtle Avenue overpass around 7:30 a.m. Crews report that the semi-truck ruptured a fuel tank.

The truck has since been towed from the scene and lanes are open. However, they may be some residual traffic in the area.

DETOUR ROUTE: I-95 SB is a parking lot right now because of this. Take N. Main Street instead into downtown to save yourself some time.

Also, I-10 EB is backing up heavier than normal due to this, US-90 looks a bit better if you want to try that.
