Two people were killed following a crash on the Buckman Bridge Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck involving a red Ford truck and a Toyota Prius shut down traffic on the eastbound side of the bridge for multiple hours.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said they were responding to the crash around 1:30 p.m. involving a fire and that drivers could expect delays.

FHP said the two people who were killed in the crash were from the same vehicle. It has not yet been disclosed which vehicle they were from.

It is unknown what caused the crash, but the Florida Highway Patrol said the collision was a rear-end to front-end collision.

Names of the victims have not yet been released.
