Fatal semi vs. vehicle crash causes major delays on SR-200

A 66-year-old man has died after a log truck and vehicle collided in Nassau County Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred on SR-200 near Piney Island Dr. It temporarily shut down the eastbound lanes and one westbound lane on SR-200 during morning rush hour.

FHP said the driver of the log truck who died, John Glendel Milton, was going eastbound in the left lane on SR-200 east of Piney Island Dr. The other driver was going westbound when Milton ran off on the left side of the roadway and overturned the log truck, FHP said.When the log truck overturned, logs became unsecured and spilled into the median and westbound lanes of SR-200, striking the left of the second vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle was not hurt.
