Blanding Boulevard reopened following fatal crash in Orange Park

Northbound Blanding Boulevard was shut down for hours due to a fatal crash, according to deputies.

A fatal crash has all northbound lanes of Blanding Boulevard blocked.

ORANGE PARK, Fla — All northbound lanes of Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park are back open Tuesday night they were shut down by a fatal crash in Orange Park, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office. 

Florida Highway Patrol said two vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened at Blanding Boulevard and Knight Boxx Road. Troopers said a blue Honda Civic was traveling west on Knight Boxx Road in the left turn lane onto Blanding Boulevard. At the same time, a yellow Honda Motorcycle driven by 51-year-old Doglas Soto was traveling eastbound on Oak Lane. Both drivers had a green light, but the Honda Civic did not have a green arrow, according to FHP. 

FHP said the Honda Civic made a left turn om front of the motorcycle, and the motorcycle struck the right front of the Honda Civic. The Soto was rushed to Orange Park Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

FHP reported the crash at 6:30 p.m. All lanes were reopened as of 8:55 p.m.
