Traffic backed up on I-95 southbound due to jackknifed semi Wednesday morning.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Drivers heading south on I-95 on Jacksonville's northside should expect delays due to a multi-vehicle crash involving a jackknifed semitruck, blocking multiple southbound lanes Wednesday morning.

The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department said around 8 a.m. its hazmat team was on the way to the scene and that drivers should expect further delays.

The Florida Highway Patrol traffic crash website shows troopers were called to I-95 at Duval Road around 4:30 a.m. An FHP report says the semi was towing two trailers in the center lane of I-95 when the driver failed to maintain control on the wet roadway.

The semi traveled onto the center median and struck the guardrail, the report says. The semi then jackknifed facing north across the guardrail with its trailers blocking the left and center lanes of I-95 southbound.

No one was hurt in the crash, according to FHP.
