A man is dead after getting into a crash on Tuesday morning in Nassau County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Douglas Adams, 52, of Callahan, died as a result of the crash, troopers say.

FHP says the incident happened on Lem Turner Road just before 9 p.m. when Adams was traveling Northbound.

Troopers say Adams lost control of his car, crossed over into the southbound lane and hit a Ford Escape head-on.

Adams was declared dead, troopers say. The driver of the Ford Escape and their passenger were both seriously hurt and taken to a hospital.

At this time, it's unknown if alcohol played a factor in this crash.
