A 73-year-old man has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash that happened in North Jacksonville Thursday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
John Revenaugh, 73, was traveling eastbound along 2281 Starratt Road at 2:19 p.m. when he went off the road and struck a tree.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department tweeted that a person, later identified as Revenaugh, was trapped inside a vehicle with serious injuries in the 2200 block of Starratt Road around 2:30 p.m. JFRD later tweeted that he had died.
This is still an active investigation, as FHP tries to determine the cause of the crash.
This is the 12th reported traffic fatality this year, according to JSO.
