JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two adults and 11 children were taken to local hospitals Friday following a single-vehicle crash on the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the Duval-Nassau County line, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported.
The crash happened near mile marker 369 in the center travel lane. Troopers said the vehicle they were occupying, a Jeep Liberty, had its rear tire blow out, causing the driver to lose control.
FHP said the driver went into the right shoulder and overturned the vehicle. Troopers said one person was seriously injured, but they didn't say if it was an adult or child.
The crash caused major traffic for hours.
