JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Washington Commanders won a wild game at Fed Ex Stadium after Carson Wentz found Jahan Dotson, who made a sensational 24 yard touchdown catch as the Commanders beat the Jaguars 28-22.

Trevor Lawrence had a desperation throw late in the game that was intercepted by Darrick Forest to seal the deal for the Commanders.

The Jaguars defense did not look as dominant as it had during the preseason in the first half, but made some adjustments in the second half allowing the offense to get it going.

Lawrence and the Jaguars offense scored on their opening drive of the second half when James Robinson took the ball in from 3 yards out for the touchdown to make it 14-9 Commanders, the 2-point conversion failed.

The Jaguars defense also turned up the heat as Tyson Campbell intercepted Carson Wentz in the 4th quarter however the Jaguars would have to settle for a Riley Patterson 45 yard field goal, giving the Jags a 15-14 lead.

Travon Walker also had a big day, with a sack and interception that would set up a James Robinson 11 yard touchdown 22-14 Jaguars.

But the Commanders would not go away Wentz found Terry McLaurin for a 49 yard touchdown catch, the Commanders would go for the two point conversion, but it failed, 22-20 Jaguars.

Washington with the momentum Wentz hooked up with Jahan Dotson, who made a 24 yard touchdown catch, Commanders went for two and converted as they won a final 28-22.

In the end, the Jaguars did not capitalize in the red zone, and penalties ended up being the difference in Sunday’s game.

The Jaguars will welcome their AFC South Rival the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, September 18th to TIAA Bank Field, kickoff is scheduled for 1PM.
