JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jaguars declined to pick up 2018 contract options for tight end Mychal Rivera and wide receiver Arrelious Benn on Tuesday. Both players will become free agents on March 14.

The team picked up three contract options earlier in the day. Tight end Marcedes Lewis, offensive tackle Josh Wells and guard Tyler Shatley will remain under contract heading into free agency.

Rivera, 27, will hit free agency after missing his entire first year with the Jaguars due to a hand injury. Rivera previously played four seasons with the Oakland Raiders. He signed with the Jaguars during free agency last March.

Benn, 29, was named the Jaguars' special teams captain last season. He was placed on injured reserve in Week 11.

Benn spent three seasons in Jacksonville. He was a standout on special teams but only caught six passes for 128 yards and a touchdown during his tenure.

The veteran wide receiver overcame several injuries to make the Jaguars' roster over the last two seasons. He failed to appear in a game from 2013-15.

The Jaguars are likely to target the wide receiver and tight end positions in the draft and free agency.
