Most high school football games moved back to Friday evenings

The exception to this will be three games scheduled on Saturday.

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — High school varsity football games in Duval County will be moving closer to what they were before the 2018 season when they were adjusted in response to violent incidents.

Most games will be moving back to Fridays and will be scheduled for 6 p.m. The exception to this will be the three games scheduled on Saturday.

DCPS released this statement: 

"This update comes from discussions with school and district leadership on how we can enhance the safety of our football games for our students and our community. We will continue to discuss proactive safety measures and share updates."
