JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The class 2A District 2 Impact Lions boys basketball team find themselves only one win away from advancing to Lakeland.

The Lions hoops program has only been around two years.

Impact’s head coach Ben Jones has a history of building programs quickly. He did the same during his stint at Ed White.

Some might be fooled by the Lions 15-12 record but coach Jones put together a tough schedule and his squad has had to battle through injuries to key players.

Coach Jones said he believes his Lions are playing their best ball right now and he’s confident they’ll be victorious Tuesday night when they hit the road to face Crossroad Academy.

The game is scheduled to start Tuesday at 7 p.m.

A win and the Lions will advance to the Final Four for the first time in the program’s short history.
