JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Originally from New York City, Noah Semple joined the Bishop Kenny basketball team before the start of his junior season. The Crusaders made it all the way to last year's Regional Semifinals where they lost a heartbreaking, triple overtime game to Ribault.

That's only fueled Semple and seven other Crusader seniors to make it even further this year.

“He’s really grown a lot. Both in the classroom and the court," head coach Jerry Buckley explained. "We're excited to see that entire year of work, everything he did from this summer, from the fall, going into the season, [and] put it to good work this season.

Even though he's only been a part of the program for less than two years, Buckley knows he can count on his starting senior center.

"He's gonna represent you well off the court -- especially," Buckley said.

For Semple, that extra year under his belt has made a big difference.

“Last season it was a challenge for us. My first year, basically learning a new system, [learning] how everything works in the offense," Semple explained.

But with almost every "cog" in that offense back for 2018-2019, expect to see a lot of Semple and the Crusaders this basketball season.
