ID=20109037JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A tradition on the First Coast that dates back to World War II is a bowl game that this year is called the TaxSlayer Bowl.

Missing this year is "Gator Bowl" in the official name, plus the game will be held on January 2 and not on New Years Day as in years past.

The match up pits Tennessee against Iowa, two teams that bowl officials say will bring football fans to the First Coast.

"The purpose of the bowl game is not to put the best match up together, but to bring the most amount of fans into our city," said Alan Verlander, who heads up Gator Bowl Sports.

Verlander says early interest in the game is high, comparing it to the year Bobby Bowden coached his final game at Florida State.

The TaxSlayer Bowl also has a late afternoon kick off on January 2 which is different than in year's past when the game started earlier in the afternoon.

On Thursday, the coaches from Tennessee and Iowa will be in town for a news conference, with the teams set to arrive in Jacksonville after Christmas to finish their preparations for the big game.
