Bishop Kenny advances to first State Championship since 1992

Crusaders defeat Southeast 49-48 in instant classic

LAKELAND, Fla. — Bishop Kenny (27-2) defeated Southeast (25-4) thanks to late free throws from Jasmyne Roberts to advance to their first State Championship game since 1992. The Crusaders were making their first Final Four appearance since that last State title, 26 years ago.

Roberts led the way for the Crusaders with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Rose Dolmovich added 14 points, including three 3-point shots. 

The Crusaders were a perfect 8 of 8 at the free throw line in the first half, and finished 11 of 12 for the game. 

Bishop Kenny will play the winner of Weeki Wachee and Plantation American Heritage in the Class 6A State Championship game at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 28.
