GAINESVILLE, Fla. — In the brand new $65,000,000 facility the Gators were not able to pull through in victory. Florida blew a 3-run lead in the 9th inning of game two, the Canes never looked back finishing Florida off 8-6 on Sunday.

A couple Jacksonville standouts shined on opening weekend. Providence graduate Nathan Hickey hit two home runs this weekend. Jacob Young from Ponte Vedra extended his hit streak to 21 games. Both of these Gators will be the offensive key going forward.
