Bestselling author R.L. Stine keynote speaker for 3rd annual Jax Book Fest

"Reader Beware, You're in for a Scare" R.L. Stine, bestselling author of the Goosebumps series, is the keynote author at the third annual Jax Book Fest on Saturday.

The Jax Book Fest is a free event that starts at 10 a.m. in the main Jacksonville Public Library located at 303 N. Laura Street.

The first 900 people at the event will receive a free souvenir tote bag to stuff will goodies that they get while browsing the book fest.

This event will feature presentations and book signings by authors on the national and local level. 

R.L. Stine is set to speak at 1 p.m. in the Hicks Auditorium. Seating in the auditorium is limited, so wristbands will be given to the first 380 people in line at 10 a.m. when the library opens, for a guaranteed seat during the presentation.

Those who receive a wristband can go and enjoy the other exhibits prior to the presentation and will be allowed to begin seating at noon.

The first 60 people in line at 10 a.m. will also get a wristband for a guaranteed spot in line to have their books signed by R.L. Stine following his 1 p.m. presentation. There is a one book per person limit and no personalizations are allowed to ensure that everyone gets their book signed.

Romance author Brenda Jackson along with historian Rodney L. Hurst will also be showcasing their books along with signing copies for guests during the event.

Books aren't the only things that guests at this event can look forward to, right across the street Hemming Park will be hosting its Get Down(town) event which will feature tons of food trucks and musical performances.
