JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police say they are looking for suspects after a woman was hit by gunfire,near the Walmart store, not far from the intersection of Beach and Southside Boulevard.

The shooting happened Thursday evening as a group of people were walking along Beach Boulevard on the sidewalk, according to investigators at the scene.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office believes a car with at least one gunman inside approached the group and started firing.

Investigators say a woman in the group was injured by the shooting and transported to a local hospital.

First responders report her injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

JSO has not determined a motive for the shooting and is still continuing to look for suspects.
