Woman breaks down on I-95, attempts to steal St. Johns County patrol vehicle

According to the arrest report, while the deputy was clearing his passenger seat the woman walked around to the driver's side door and opened it.

A woman from South Carolina attempted to steal a patrol vehicle after breaking down on I-95, according to the St. John's County Sheriff's Office.

Larobin Lee, 31, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with obstruction by disguise and grand theft of a motor vehicle.

According to the arrest report, a St. John's County Sheriff's Office deputy pulled over to try and help a car that was disabled on the inside shoulder of I-95 and noticed that a woman was walking southbound on the shoulder.

The deputy made contact with the woman, later identified by deputies as Lee, and was attempting to give her a ride off the Interstate. According to the arrest report, while the deputy was clearing his passenger seat the woman walked around to the driver's side door and opened it.

The report states that the woman opened the door, got into the car and grabbed the steering wheel an attempt to steal the vehicle. The deputy says at that point he ran over and got her out of the car.

Later, deputies say that Lee provided several different names and dates of birth to deputies. She was charged with obstruction by disguise and transported to St. Johns County Jail under the name Jane Doe.

She was later identified when her vehicle was towed from I-95.

She is being held on a $3,000 bond.
