ORLANDO, Fla.- A Jacksonville man has been identified as one of the victims who died in the attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando that claimed 50 lives in total and injured 53.
The City of Orlando released that Darryl 'DJ' Roman Burt II, 29, of Jacksonville died.
The group Junior Chamber International-Florida (Jacksonville Jaycees) said Burt was an active member of their organization in Jacksonville.
Laticia Cummings is one of the Jaycees' vice presidents. Cummings called Burt was "a hard worker interested in getting more involved in his community."
Burt worked at Keiser University's Jacksonville Campus as a financial aid officer. He worked with veterans and military students.
The school's president, Lisamarie Winslow, said Burt contributed greatly to the team.
48 victims have been identified so far.
