JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Georgia Florida game has come and gone but the piles trash left behind by all those tailgaters still lingered this morning outside Everbank Field.
Everything from beer bottles, cans and yes even broken lawn furniture were just a few remnants from Saturday’s game.
According to Stephan Prebot, people could do more to clean up their mess.
“It’s a lot of people out here drinking doing a lot of things just tossing their beer bottles around. They could clean up, but that’s not their mindset at a tailgate.”
City crews spent hours cleaning up tailgate hotspots like RV City and under the I-95 overpass.

However, all the extra cans and bottles didn’t seem to bother a man by the name of Larry.
“If you don’t mind getting dirty then you know you won’t have a problem with it,” said Larry.
He says when big games like Georgia/Florida come to town he knows he’s going to make some extra money, in fact, after last year’s Georgia Florida game Larry says he pocketed $150 just from collecting cans from nearby dumpsters.
“I mean if you want to total it up, you could say I’m getting paid $20 an hour and most people don’t’ get paid that, so you do the math.”
Most of the trash and debris was cleaned up by city crews by noon on Sunday.
