JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Governor Rick Scott's Senate campaign unveiled a new element to its platform at a stop in Jacksonville Friday.

Scott (R-FL) spoke at Coastal Industries on the Southside, introducing a second phase of his campaign platform, which includes requiring congress to attain a super majority if it intends to impose new taxes.

"[Congress] should have to think long and hard before they get another tax increase on all of us as citizens.," Gov. Scott said.

Scott has proposed for Florida, an amendment that would require two-thirds of the state legislature to approve tax increases.

The first phase of the campaign platform focused on congressional term limits.

First Coast News reporter Alex Osiadacz spoke one-on-one with Scott about unemployment and taking a business approach to politics.

"How do we fix the problem? We're down to under 60,000 people on unemployment in this state, I think that's a positive because people can get a job we have 265,000 job openings because I ran on a platform and I was focused on how to get people a job," Gov. Scott said.
